What Celestite means
Celestite lines the inside of plain grey rock with a nest of pale blue points, a hidden sky inside stone the colour of nothing much. Its name comes from the Latin for heavenly, caelestis, for a colour no one expects to find underground.
Emotional properties
Put the phone face down and give the last minute of the evening to a celestite cluster instead; its pale blue asks nothing of you back. Stillness, here, is not the absence of thought but a thinner, softer version of it.
Spiritual properties
Every cluster of celestite is a little different, dozens of thin points fused at odd angles rather than one clean crystal, and no meditation with it goes quite the same way twice. Physical properties
Lift a celestite cluster and the heft surprises you: strontium makes it far heavier than a stone that looks like frost has any right to be. That mismatch, pale and heavy at once, is a cue to let your shoulders drop and your feet find the floor. Handle it by the base, since the points are thin and snap easily.
Care and cleansing
Soft and slightly soluble, celestite should stay out of water, since a soak can cloud its crystal faces over time. Cleanse it with smoke or sound instead of a rinse, and charge it in moonlight rather than strong sun. Store it in a box of its own, since its points snap easily against harder stones.
