What Ace of Cups means
An Ace carries no decan. The tradition hands it a quadrant of the heavens instead, three signs wide — an authority stated at the largest scale the system has and the least specific. At that scale the suit’s subject is receptivity, and the pack has to begin by arguing for it, since its grammar treats the other three elements as things done to the world and this one as the capacity to be reached by it. Susceptibility is entered here as an ability, unqualified by occasion, object or cost. The thirteen cards that follow supply all three.
Upright
A feeling or connection may be ready to receive your attention. Make space for it without requiring an immediate label, promise, or conclusion.
Reversed
Care may be flowing outward while your own needs go unnamed. Allow feeling to be present before deciding what you should do with it.
A question to sit with
What feeling needs room before it needs an answer?
