What Citrine means
Most citrine sold today began as amethyst, heated until its violet turned a clear gold. True untreated citrine exists but is rare enough that assuming yours has seen a kiln is usually the safer bet.
Emotional properties
Grey weeks turn up without a reason attached, and they leave the same way. Stand citrine by the window where you open the curtains, just clear of the sun, so its gold is the first colour you meet. On a dull morning it is the one warm thing in the room.
Spiritual properties
Name, out loud or on paper, one small thing that grew this week without much effort, and let citrine's link to abundance rest on that instead of a single windfall. Growth counted in small, ordinary sums still adds up to something real. Keep the tally where you will find it again in a lean week.
Physical properties
Cool at first touch, citrine takes a minute in a closed hand to warm through. Pocket it on a slow-starting morning and close your fingers round it whenever the day asks you to move a little faster. By the time it has warmed through, the day usually has too.
Care and cleansing
Citrine's gold can pale after long weeks on a sunny sill, whether it came from the ground that colour or from a kiln, so charge it in an hour of morning light. It is quartz, so a rinse under the tap does no harm. A pouch of its own keeps it from scratching softer stones.
A question to sit with
When did something last grow for you without any effort at all?
