What The High Priestess means
Where the Magician speaks, this one withholds. It concerns knowledge that exists before language and loses something in the crossing into it: memory, intuition, dream material, the understanding a body arrives at well ahead of its owner. Its real subject is custody — the difference between what is private and what is secret, and the right to leave a thing unstated until it is ready to be stated. Authority here comes of keeping, not displaying, which is why it reads as reserved where a quicker card would look passive. Nothing in it is owed to whoever happens to be asking.
Upright
The answer is taking shape beneath the noise. Leave a little room for silence, dreams, and the knowledge that does not need to prove itself yet.
Reversed
Too much outside commentary may be drowning out your inner signal. Step back from the feed and listen for what remains when the noise drops away.
