Seven of Wands, from the Ishtar Insights tarot deck

What Seven of Wands means

The Five is a contest among equals; the Seven is not, and the asymmetry changes the terms completely. Holding a position already occupied costs less than taking one, and the cheapness is the trap. An advantage can be kept long after whatever it protected stopped being worth protecting, because the price of continuing stays small enough never to force the question. Sevens are the pips’ point of strain, and here the strain accumulates through duration: a position grows harder to justify the longer it is held, and easier to hold the longer it is justified.

Upright

Something worth protecting may require a clear position. Choose the boundary that matters, explain it simply, and spend your energy where it can make a difference.

Reversed

Constant defensiveness can make every request feel like a battle. Check which boundary still serves you and where support could reduce the pressure.

A question to sit with

Which position is worth defending, and which argument can I leave?
