Six of Wands, from the Ishtar Insights tarot deck

What Six of Wands means

A reputation is held by other people. It is not a property of whoever it describes, which is the fact this card is built on and the reason it can never be settled from one side alone. Something was done; an account of it now circulates, and the account has its own life, its own errors, and an audience with reasons of its own for repeating it. The gap between an act and its report is where the card sits. Sixes across the pips restore order after the Fives, and the order restored here is a social one: the suit’s exertion becomes a public fact, and public facts are not owned.

Upright

Allow a contribution to be seen. Receive recognition without losing sight of the people and effort behind it, then decide what responsibility follows success.

Reversed

Approval may be taking too much of the steering. Define success in terms you can stand behind, and notice the work that remains valuable without applause.

A question to sit with

What contribution can I acknowledge without needing it to impress anyone?

Traditional attribution

Jupiter in Leo. Attributions follow the Golden Dawn with Waite's numbering.
