Eight of Wands

What Eight of Wands means

Dispatch and arrival are separated by an interval, and that interval is what the Eight is for. Throughout it the matter is out of anybody’s hands, still travelling, and no longer correctable by whoever set it going: intent was fixed at the moment of release, interpretation belongs to whoever receives it, and the space between the two admits no revision. Speed is the property most easily noticed here and the least consequential, since the irreversibility would hold at any pace at all. Most of the suit is concerned with effort; this pip is concerned with what effort does once it has left.

Upright

Several things may be ready to move together. Keep communication clear and choose a direction so that momentum helps rather than scatters your attention.

Reversed

Speed may be outrunning understanding, or delays may be exposing a missing step. Clarify the message and the sequence before pressing for movement.

A question to sit with

What needs to be clear before I move quickly?
