Queen of Wands

What Queen of Wands means

Pairing fire with the element that puts it out needs explaining. The explanation is rate. Water does not only quench: it conducts heat and carries warmth through a mass without being spent in the carrying. What that gives the suit is temperature instead of flame — something that can be maintained at a level for years. The court’s subject is climate: what a person is consistently like alters what becomes possible near them, with no instruction issued, nothing requested, and generally nobody noticing the mechanism. Influence like this is never exercised. It is simply the conditions.
