Knight of Wands, from the Ishtar Insights tarot deck

What Knight of Wands means

Air of fire. Air is what fire feeds on, so nothing in this court qualifies anything else, and the two halves of the attribution simply agree. Air contributes reach as well as increase, being the element of direction and of distance, and it carries. This court supplies force with a bearing and no ballast — able to cover ground the suit could not otherwise reach, and unable to remain anywhere it arrives, because whatever sustains the motion is the same stuff being burnt to produce it.

Upright

Courage can break a period of hesitation. Give your enthusiasm a destination, and consider who or what needs to be brought along as you move.

Reversed

Intensity is useful only when it serves a direction. Pause before making a promise in the heat of the moment, and check whether you can sustain it.

A question to sit with

Where would courage help, and where would pacing help more?

Traditional attribution

Air of Fire. Attributions follow the Golden Dawn with Waite's numbering.
