Justice
truth · balance · consequence

What Justice means
The claim underneath this card is that acts have weight and can be compared, that there is a standard outside the person being measured. Libra is the one sign in the zodiac named for an object instead of a creature, and the object is a measuring instrument, which is as near to a definition as the attributions ever get. Its coldness is deliberate. Justice takes no interest in how understandable a reason was, only in what that reason produced. Being understood and being answerable are different requests, and only the second is entertained here.
Upright
Clarity comes from telling the truth about the tradeoff. Let evidence and values sit at the same table, then make the cleanest decision you can.
Reversed
Something is being rationalized instead of faced. Restore balance by naming your part, correcting what you can, and releasing the story that avoids consequence.
A question to sit with
What fact would make this decision more honest?
Traditional attribution
Libra. Attributions follow the Golden Dawn with Waite's numbering.
