What Eight of Cups means
Saturn is the pack’s account-keeper; Pisces dissolves the terms an account would be kept in. The Eight sits on that contradiction. Leaving something that has not failed forfeits the ordinary justification — nobody defaulted, nothing broke — and the vocabulary available for departure is borrowed almost wholly from the vocabulary of complaint. With no complaint to draw on, the entire reason has to be carried by whoever holds it, unshared and unratified by anybody else. A departure of that kind is heavier than one with a grievance behind it, not lighter. The Eight marks the distance between a reason and an excuse. The excuse is the part that is missing.
Upright
Something can be valuable and still no longer be enough. Consider what a change would honor, what it would cost, and what you are moving toward.
Reversed
The decision to stay or leave may need a more honest question. Separate fear of change from a real reason to invest further where you are.
A question to sit with
What would make staying meaningful, and what would make leaving purposeful?
