Two of Swords, from the Ishtar Insights tarot deck

What Two of Swords means

Cut something once and two things exist where one did before, and the pair looks native almost at once, as though the world had come divided that way and the division had merely been noticed. That is the Two’s business. A question put as a choice between two options has already had most of its work done on it, out of sight, by whoever settled that there were two; everything the cut discarded is gone before the choosing begins, and leaves no mark on the alternatives that remain. A ballot paper with two names on it records a decision taken earlier, elsewhere, by fewer people.

Upright

Holding two possibilities in balance can create a needed pause. Notice when the pause stops protecting discernment and starts postponing a necessary choice.

Reversed

A decision may be emerging through the discomfort of uncertainty. Seek the missing information and acknowledge the feeling that logic alone has not settled.

A question to sit with

What am I trying not to feel while I weigh this choice?
