What Nine of Pentacles means
Two people can hold the same object and get different prices for it, and the difference is which of them can afford to wait a month. The one who must sell today is negotiating against a clock the other cannot hear. Self-sufficiency, at the rank where the suit arrives at it, is largely that — not a quantity so much as a set of offers that can be turned down. Venus takes the middle face of Virgo here, at her weakest in a sign that inspects and sorts, so the ease this rank holds is ease that has been through an inspection.
Upright
Recognize the space your effort has made possible. Enjoy an ordinary comfort and notice the boundaries and support that help sustain your independence.
Reversed
An image of independence can hide the cost of maintaining it. Ask whether the arrangement supports your actual well-being and leaves room to receive.
