What King of Pentacles means

A bridge of twice the span is not a bridge twice as good. Loads grow faster than the members that carry them, and past a certain length the design has to become a different design rather than a larger one. Material arrangements behave like this in general: what worked at one size is not the same thing at four times the size, because the people required, the failure modes and the amount that cannot be done by hand all move at rates of their own. Fire of earth is the suit’s term for will laid on matter, and the King is the size at which will stops being able to touch the matter directly. Whoever built the thing is by then employed on an object that no longer resembles the one they built.

Upright

Use experience to create something dependable. A sound foundation includes the people who maintain it and enough flexibility to respond to changing conditions.

Reversed

Security may be becoming an end that consumes the life it was meant to support. Revisit what enough means and how responsibility can be shared.

A question to sit with

What would responsible stewardship look like beyond simply holding on?
