Four of Cups, from the Ishtar Insights tarot deck

What Four of Cups means

Any faculty that reports a change stops reporting a constant. A steady supply, undiminished and entirely intact, gradually ceases to register at all, leaving the odd condition of dissatisfaction with no grievance attached — nothing has gone wrong, nothing has been taken away, and the flatness persists regardless, with no object to fasten itself to. Grievance is a form of explanation, and the Four withholds one, leaving the state peculiarly hard to examine: examination generally begins by naming a fault, and here there is no fault to name. Habituation is a property of the instrument doing the sensing.

Upright

A period of disengagement can reveal what no longer nourishes you. Rest with the question, while remaining curious about an offer you might have overlooked.

Reversed

Interest may be returning after a quiet or dissatisfied period. Notice the small invitation that feels different, and let curiosity reopen the door gradually.

A question to sit with

What am I overlooking while I focus on what is missing?
