Seven of Pentacles, from the Ishtar Insights tarot deck

What Seven of Pentacles means

Half a harvest is food. Half a tunnel is not. Some undertakings return value in proportion to how far they have got, and others return nothing whatever until the last piece is in, and while the work is going on the two conditions feel identical from inside — the same effort spent, the same thing not yet there. Which kind a project is was settled by its nature long before anyone started on it, and it decides what an interruption costs: in one case a delay, in the other everything already put in. Nobody is told which kind they are working on. It belongs to the work itself, and it holds whether anybody has thought to ask or not.

Upright

Pause to examine what your sustained effort is producing. Continue what is taking root, adjust what is not, and let the timescale match the work.

Reversed

Impatience or sunk effort may be steering the decision. Review the evidence and choose whether to continue, change the method, or redirect your attention.

A question to sit with

What is actually growing from the effort I am putting in?

Traditional attribution

Saturn in Taurus. Attributions follow the Golden Dawn with Waite's numbering.
