What Ace of Pentacles means
A thought can be handed over and still be held; so can a feeling, and so can a plan. An amount cannot. Matter is rivalrous — two things will not occupy one place, and what one person holds is by that fact not available to anyone else — and the suit begins from that property, before any use has been made of it. Cost comes out of it, and ownership, and the entire apparatus of keeping track. None of it is moral, which is worth saying at the outset, since the suit gets read that way so often. Earth at its root is the condition of being somewhere in particular, in some quantity, rather than everywhere in principle.
Upright
A practical opening is worth tending. Look for the first concrete step and the ordinary conditions that would allow the possibility to take root.
Reversed
A promising beginning may need more preparation or a better fit. Check your capacity and the details before investing further effort.
